Approaches to counselling

A Mind-Body Approach

My approach goes beyond straightforward talk therapy because I believe the storyteller is sometimes more interesting than the story. My practice is strongly informed by the Hakomi method that grounds us in the present moment and encourages us to pay attention to our bodily sensations, feelings, and beliefs to speed up the important process of healing and self-discovery.

Mindfulness Based Therapy

Cultivating mindfulness of our experience in the present moment develops a distinct sense of richness, vitality, and aliveness. Mindfulness can reduce stress, increase focus and concentration, help us tolerate emotions and think more clearly. Learning mindfulness skills can increase self-awareness, improve self-regulation, create mind-body integration and support us to feel more connected to ourselves and others.

A Warm, Integrative Practice

I will endeavour to provide a safe, collaborative, warm, and non-judgmental environment for you to feel understood. Together we will examine your inner resources, search for unhealed emotional wounds, and expose long-held beliefs that limit your potential. I enjoy tailoring my practice to suit your  unique personality, goals and needs by skilfully integrating the following  approaches to support your growth and healing.
