My Values and Orientations
With gratitude, I have been living in the Northern Rivers region for over 45 years. I first came to Byron Bay on the wave of alternative lifestylers that flocked to this region for its beautiful beaches and green hinterland to build a community of people who care about the environment and each other. Living in paradise has created a healing container for my personal growth and spiritual development. Dealing with my emotional "unfinished business" and developing more self awareness supports me to relate to my life in a more creative, richer and fuller way.
I see that individuals are impacted by and interconnected within larger networks of relationships and social systems. My practice is rooted in systems theory and my dedication to social and environmental justice. I believe that becoming more whole is an ongoing, unfolding journey that is vital not only to my own inner peace, but to the survival of our dear Earth and the evolution of all humanity. In these times of ecological and social crisis, I believe that the inner work of personal growth and the outer work of activism are connected. When we experience an embodied sense of belonging with ourselves and all life, we also experience power to act for our world. Joining together as community and sharing our pain for the world is evidence of our interconnectedness, and a healing in itself. With this as my passion, I have facilitated groups, workshops, festivals and community gatherings.
I am passionate about helping people create real and sustainable transformation in their lives and in their relationships through cultivating a capacity for greater self-love and presence. I am fascinated with the interplay between spirituality and psychology and between “growing up” and “waking up.” I believe that each individual has organic, innate wisdom and resources within them to move towards wellbeing and wholeness.
I work collaboratively with clients to meet their unique needs and weave a variety of modalities into my work with individuals, couples and groups as specific needs arise. I have completed studies in Community Services, Counselling, Psychology and various Psychotherapies. I have been employed with both government and non-government organisations for the past thirty years working with people with various mental health presentations, alcohol and drug issues, adolescents and families with relationship challenges.
