My goal is to evoke your own inner resources to respond to the challenges and opportunities of life based on your valued goals. Utilising my knowledge of psychology, clinical experience and counselling skills I can assist you to tap into your innate mind/body wisdom in a safe, supportive relationship. Taking a strengths-based, person centred and mindful approach, I effectively integrate approaches such as Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Schema Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy and Hakomi to suit your individual personality, problem, needs and goals.
I believe that individuals cannot be understood in isolation from one another, but rather as a part of the system they find themselves in. Therefore, family relationships are an important factor in psychological health. Regardless of the origin of our problem, whether we consider it an "individual" or "family" issue, involving families in solutions can often increase the effectiveness of therapy. I utilise Attachment-based Family Therapy to guide family conversations and experiences that draws on the strengths, wisdom, and support of the family unit.
Each relationship has its unique challenges and strengths and maintaining positive close relationships invites us to grow and develop as individuals. I integrate emotion-focused, attachment based and developmental therapies to help couples create safety to gain clarity about relationship issues and rebuild intimacy and passion. Whether you are in relationship despair or re-entering the dating scene, I will help you to reduce negative patterns of behaviour, share your emotions and communicate effectively, to build the relationship that suits you. I have been employed as a youthworker for the past 8 years and can provide a warm, supportive and safe environment for you to explore issues or feelings which may be causing you difficulties. You can learn to deal with these issues and develop skills and tools which can help you move forward in your life.
